2010 Macon County Republican Convention

Over 120 enthusiastic Macon County Republicans gathered on Saturday, the 20th of March, for their annual precinct and convention. The highlight was meeting and hearing the Republican candidates for the 11th District Congressional seat. Kenny West, Greg Newman, Jeff Miller (Jeff was ill so Jim Clayton spoke on his behalf), Ed Krause (Sen (ret) Bob Carpenter spoke on Ed's behalf since Ed was attending his mother's memorial service), Jake Howard, and Dan Eichenbaum also answered questions submitted by the audience.

All local candidates attended along with NC Rep Roger West, Donna Forga (candidate for Judge seat held by Van Hook), Greg Boyer (candidate for Judge in District 30), and a representative for US Sen Richard Burr.

Breakfast was provided by Gem Country Republicans and other volunteers. Kevin Corbin led the crowd in a rousing rendition of the National Anthem, Gene Price delivered an inspiring invocation, Michael Douglas led the pledge of allegiance and the US Marine Corps League presented the colors.
